If you're looking to advertise on Facebook, or already are, there is a great tool you should be using. The Facebook pixel.
What is the Facebook pixel?
The Facebook pixel is a piece of code that you embed in your website. It tracks conversions from Facebook ads, optimizes ads based on the collected data, helps build targeted audiences for ads in the future, and lets you remarket to people who have taken actions on your site.
It works by placing and triggering cookies to track users as they interact with your website.
Setting it Up
First, make sure you've created a Facebook pixel. What Ask The Doctor needs is the Pixel ID.
- Open up the events manager
- In the "Facebook Pixel" section, select "Get Started". Name and create your Pixel.
- Select "Email instructions to a developer"
- Paste in the Pixel ID on your settings page under "Integrations"
- You're all set!
Once the pixel has been set, it will start tracking events for you on your Ask The Doctor profile. We track every time your site is visited, and every time a button is clicked.
